“Fostering Wonders Pre Reader curriculum has been such a joy to use in our homeschool. As a mama of five it has simplified sight reading lessons for our children making them an achievable, regular and enjoyable part of our days. The children have thrived in their reading and have loved learning through nursery rhymes. Scarlette has done a beautiful job of creating a truly open and go reading curriculum that genuinely follows Charlotte Masons methods.”

“I’m thankful that so little has to be prepped ahead of time since I’m also busy with a 9-month-old. Lessons are clearly explained and easy to follow. Thank you for making this available! It’s such a good resource.”

“We have been having a great experience with the curriculum so far. We’re on week 3 of each lesson, and my daughter has been loving the stories and activities for each subject. She and I especially enjoy the readings from Parables of Nature, which I had never come across before! They are so beautiful and rich in truth. All the readings have been great though, and I can see her making progress. This is her first time doing narrations, and they are gradually improving each week. Copy work is helping with her writing too. Both my girls (6 and 4) liked learning “Estrellita” for Spanish as well. I love the history readings, and wish I’d had Our Island Story read to me growing up - it’s fascinating. I’m thankful that so little has to be prepped ahead of time since I’m also busy with a 9-month-old. Lessons are clearly explained and easy to follow. Thank you for making this available! It’s such a good resource.”

About Scarlette

Thoughtful curriculum for real homeschool days.

I'm Scarlette Deras — homeschooling mom of three, former special education teacher with a Master's in Education, and native Spanish speaker. After 9 years in public education, my husband and I chose a different path for our family.

When I discovered Charlotte Mason, everything changed. Not just how I teach — but how I see children. They're not empty vessels to fill. They're born persons, full of wonder, waiting to be nurtured.

I created this curriculum to make a rich Charlotte Mason education more practical, peaceful, and approachable for real families.

Why This Curriculum Is Simple by Design

Clean, peaceful, and rich in what matters most.

I created this curriculum to be clean, straightforward, and rich in what matters most. A beautiful education does not come from overwhelming parents or children with flashy extras, crowded pages, or endless busywork. It comes from reading living books together, giving space for meaningful narration, and allowing truth, beauty, and goodness to take root in everyday family life.

The short lessons and simple format are intentional. They help parents offer a rich and robust education without exhaustion, while still leaving room for nature walks, family time, creativity, good habits, and quiet moments of wonder. I want this curriculum to support a peaceful, life-giving atmosphere in the home—one where both parent and child can truly enjoy learning together.

Teaching Philosophy

Children are born persons.

Charlotte Mason's method isn't a curriculum — it's a philosophy of how children learn best.

🏡

Atmosphere

The circumstances surrounding every home environment shape who a child becomes. Learning doesn't begin and end at a desk.

🌿

Discipline

Good habits, not rigid rules. Charlotte Mason believed that establishing gentle, consistent habits forms character naturally.

💡

Life

Nourishing the mind with living ideas through personal observation and living books — not textbooks and worksheets.

"…the question is not how much does the youth know when he finishes his education, but how much does he care."

— Charlotte Mason
